GET CHOMPIE’S FAMOUS JEWISH SLIDERS FOR ONLY 99 CENTS DURING CHOMPIE’S FOURTH ANNUAL CUSTOMER APPRECIATION ULTIMATE SLIDER CELEBRATION
Experience the same Jewish Sliders that Adam Richman ate when he undertook Chompie’s Ultimate Slider Challenge on the Travel Channel’s popular program Man v. Food!
On Wednesday, July 17, 2013, Chompie’s will host our Fourth Annual Customer Appreciation Ultimate Slider Celebration, offering Jewish Sliders™ for just $.99 each (regularly $3.99)  from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., or while supplies last, at all four Chompie’s locations. This annual event is Chompie’s way of thanking customers for their support for more than 34 years.
Make no mistake; the Jewish Sliders are as big as they are delicious! They are made with Chompie’s fresh-baked mini challah roll filled with moist lean brisket, mini potato pancake and Jack cheese, served with a side of brown gravy. The Jewish Slider was made famous when Adam Richman, host of Travel Channel’s Man v. Food, attempted Chompie’s Ultimate Slider Challenge at the Tempe location in March of 2010.
The Ultimate Slider Challenge consists of a platter filled with 12 original Jewish Sliders and a mound of fried onion strings. It’s a total of five pounds of food that a challenger must eat entirely within just 30 minutes. Winners are awarded a free Ultimate Slider Challenge T-shirt, a coveted spot on Chompie’s Wall of Fame and the meal free.
When the show premiered, no one had yet succeeded in winning the Challenge, including Adam. To-date, only eleven people have succeeded out of hundreds of attempts.
The popularity of Chompie’s famous Jewish Slider continues to grow, as well as the popularity of the Annual Customer Appreciation Ultimate Slider Celebration. During 2012’s one-day celebration, more than 11,495 Jewish Sliders were purchased. Chompie’s hopes to break that record this year.
“It’s amazing what a not-so-little sandwich can do,” says Wendy Borenstein-Tucker, co-owner of Chompie’s. “It makes people happy and brings them together. That’s what Chompie’s has always been about.”

Donations from Chompie’s New Kids Menu Sales Provide Funding to Run Much Needed Program for Cash Strapped Schools

PlayworksPhotoTiny-WEB350

According to elementary school age kids, bullying occurs most often during recess. Teachers and principals explain that the transition from recess to classroom teaching time is often the most difficult and wasted time portion of each day. That’s why Chompie’s,  Arizona’s New York Deli, through its “Chompie’s Cares” program, has teamed up with the nonprofit Playworks Arizona to put an end to bullying and increase teaching time in area schools.

Chompie’s and Playworks collaborated to make a new kids menu for Chompie’s that helps teach kids how to solve conflicts and promote inclusion within schools and on the recess yard. Chompie’s is making a donation to Playworks for every kids meal purchased from the new kids menu to help schools run much needed programs that teach kids to be inclusive and boost self-confidence.

The new interactive and educational kids menu at Chompie’s offers 19 different breakfast, lunch and dinner kids meals and introduces a new gluten-free friendly section with menu items such as waffles, macaroni and cheese and flatbread cheese pizza. The regular kids meals include all-time favorites like chicken fingers, French toast and cheeseburgers, plus a selection of sliders. The new menu also includes fun interactive learning games that teach sharing, inclusion and conflict resolution.

“This partnership with Chompie’s is the first of its kind in the nation for our organization,” said Chuck Warshaver, Executive Director of Playworks Arizona. “Chompie’s not only is making a donation for each kids meal purchased, but they allowed us to help design the menus to include games and activities focused on our core values of inclusion. We couldn’t ask for a more effective partnership to talk to kids and parents to help reduce bullying, increase teaching time and increase physical activity in our schools.”
“We visited some of the schools using the Playworks program and were overwhelmed by the response from principals, teachers and students as to how successful the program is at reducing bullying and increasing teaching time for teachers thanks to fewer students being sent to the office for bad behavior and how the transition from recess to class time dramatically improved,” said Neal Borenstein, owner of Chompie’s. “We sought to create a new kids menu that encompassed the core values that Playworks teaches on the recess yard, and based on early responses from our guests we know we succeeded.” To view the menu and activities online visit: https://s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/chompies/FullKidsMenu.pdf

Experience the Next Generation of Smoked Fish at Chompie’s
Introducing Our New “Gen-S” Smoked Fish Menu
Introducing our new and improved smoked fish menu featuring authentic Norwegian Smoked Fish selections that will excite and satisfy the new generation of fish loving foodies as well as long-time smoked fish loyalists.
Smoked fish has long been a Jewish tradition as well as a tradition at Chompie’s. In ancient times, when kosher meat was not always available, fish was an important staple of the Jewish diet.
“For over 34 years, Chompie’s has  always strived to provide the freshest, most enjoyable, and most authentic experience and food possible, while keeping up with the times, which is why we are introducing the new smoked fish menu,” said Neal Borenstein, Executive Vice President and owner of Chompie’s.
We have branded our entire new line-up of smoked fish “Gen-S”–the next generation of smoked fish in terms of selection (wider variety and new tastes), superior quality and sustainability, appealing to Gen-Xers and Gen-Yers hungry for modern twists on traditional deli offerings with expectations beyond those of the generations before them.  Simply put, Chompie’s Gen-S ain’t your grandma’s smoked fish; in fact, it knocks it out of the water.
The new smoked fish selections found both on our dining menu and in our fresh deli case include:
Nova Lox: The grand-daddy of them all, this traditionally smoked Norwegian salmon has the perfect balance of flavors. It’s good with just about anything!
Pastrami Smoked Salmon: Traditionally smoked Norwegian salmon with pastrami seasoning, making for an irresistibly sweet and tangy flavor.
Gravlox: An old world style of smoked Norwegian salmon that is also brined and seasoned with a traditional dill and pepper blend. A very unique, slightly salty flavor.
Smoked Whitefish: Wood-Fire smoked, our Whitefish is from the fresh waters of the Great Lakes. The gleaming golden skin is a deli tradition like no other.
Smoked Black Cod: Also known as Sablefish, one of the most coveted smoked fish varieties world-wide, our version has an irresistible flavor. Typically caught in the east Pacific, between Alaska and California.
Baked Salmon: Wood-Fire smoked over a unique blend of hardwoods, our baked (a.k.a. Kippered) salmon has an especially smoky flavor. Try it on its own or in our Baked Salmon Salad.
The new smoked fish menu includes selections for breakfast, lunch and dinner, including Gluten-Free Friendly and Deli take out as well.

Pastrami Smoked Salmon: “LEO” lox sautéed with crunchy fried capers, onions, and scrambled eggs. Served with Potato Latke hash brown, choice of bagel and cream cheese 10.99
