The Borensteins - Lou, Lovey, Mark, Neal & Wendy are the founders who came to the Valley from Queens, New York City in 1979 with a dream. That dream materialized into a reality, with "Chompie's," an exciting New York Style Bakery featuring breads, cakes, pastries and our world famous bagels and bialys. Today, Chompie's Wholesale "from scratch" Bakery services the Phoenix metro area daily. The 42,000 square-foot baking company located in downtown Phoenix is certified Kosher by the Greater Phoenix Vaad Hakashruth and delivers to more than 500 Valley restaurants, resorts, and major food chains throughout Arizona, Colorado, California, Utah, and Texas.

While Chompie's has been baking them since 1979, this cookie has been around since 1902 and has an iconic status in New York. It's even been featured on the TV show Seinfeld referenced by the now famous line "Look to the Cookie". The Black and White is a soft shortbread cookie that is iced on one half with vanilla and on the other half with a dark chocolate. It's been the number one selling cookie at Chompie's three bakery and restaurant locations.
